Art is a tradition that historically helped define Muslim civilization. However, after colonization and the modern era muslims find art and creativity not pursued to it's full potential. That's why CAIR-Missouri launched "Creativity & Identity" a 1-day Muslim Art Exhibition featuring Muslim artists in St. Louis. If you are an aspiring Muslim artists and are looking for a platform to showcase your art then we want you to be a part of #CrISTL 2018. Do you create fine or practical pieces of identity?

In the past we have featured graphic designers, photographers, fashion designers, soap makers, painters and fine artists, jewelry makers, henna artists, makeup artists, screen printers, and calligraphers.

CRiSTL17: What did you gain from attending CRiSTL last year as an artist?

" Last year, I had the chance to test out if hand lettering would be a viable means to supporting animals and I'm glad it was. I've tried selling my original paintings to support animals for quiet some time, but have had little gain. So I'm glad CRiSTL gave me the chance to try something different last year and I'm glad it worked."- Aalia Rahman, CRiSTL17 artist
